This is our first vineyard-designate Pinot Noir, sourced 100% from the Tina Marie Vineyard in the Green Valley of RRV. The Green Valley has become synonymous with outstanding Pinot Noir, and the Tina Marie Vineyard is one of the most esteemed vineyards in all of Sonoma County.
Veteran owner and grower Ron Black meticulously laid out this vineyard with dense plantings, resulting in low yields and quality fruit. Tina Marie’s rich Goldridge soil, with a little extra clay, holds a bit more moisture, all culminating to produce exceptionally structured and aromatic wines.
The grapes were fermented in small t-bin fermenters which enable for hand punch-down to best turnover the “cap” for complete extraction. We produce "natural" wines with 100% native yeast fermentation. 20% of the grapes saw whole bunch fermentation. And the wine was aged in 33% new French oak for 11 months.
An excellent and approachable Pinot Noir that balances between wild strawberry jam and black pepper, fresh rose petals and vanilla. Soft tannins, medium body, with some notes of sandalwood and used leather. A savory finish makes this a perfect match for blackened chicken, BBQ burger or brisket sandwich with onion rings, and grilled quail.
